What is Vintage Leather?
Vintage leather is not assigned to a specific type of leather. It refers to either new leather that looks like old leather, or new leather that quickly shows signs of use.
Often, it is smooth or suede leather, pull-up leather, or semi-nubucks that are treated with a special wax coating after tanning or dyeing. This quickly changes the surface texture through regular use, giving the leather products an antique look.
Properties and Care of Vintage Leather
An irregular color pattern, as well as scratches, are part of vintage products. This effect is intentional and desired by customers. Leather of this type has a pleasantly soft, full feel. However, due to their texture, they are particularly sensitive to stains and require regular care.
