Buffalo leather

Buffalo Leather General

Buffalo leather is obtained from swamp buffalo or river buffalo. Swamp buffalo are bred in Asia, while river buffalo come primarily from Europe and North America.

Properties and uses of buffalo leather

Buffalo leather is a robust and durable leather. Due to its significantly open, coarse porosity, it is classified as an aniline leather. With age, the leather fades and becomes sensitive to stains. This is how it usually acquires its typical shiny and greasy character. Buffalo leather is very popular as upholstery leather or for accessories such as bags.
