Why take a bag as hand luggage and not, for example, a rolling suitcase?

• Some airlines, such as Ryanair, no longer allow you to take a trolley case onto the plane as hand luggage for free.
  
  
• Your hand luggage is usually limited to a certain weight. A rolling suitcase is already heavier than a bag, meaning you're allowed to take less.
  
  
• Leather bags are quite flexible, so there is always a little bit of leeway with the dimensions of the bags.
