Nylon General
Nylon is the first man-made fiber produced entirely inorganically by humans. The chemical interaction of air, water, and carbon creates long chains, resulting in so-called polymers, from which fibers can be formed.
Nylon properties
Nylon is durable, very elastic, and has high stability. Additionally, nylon can utilize energy better than many other materials. It maintains its stability even under extreme tensile forces.
Nylon use
Due to its high stability and tear resistance, nylon is used in the production of parachutes, climbing ropes, and hot air balloons, among other things. Nylon is also used in the textile industry because it can be processed as a breathable textile. Nylon stockings and tights are particularly well-known.
At Gusti Leder, nylon is used as the underlayer of some carrying straps, thus ensuring their stability.
